Become a court appointed special advocate for CASA - Court Appointed Special Advocates of Ocean County, Inc and be the voice for an abused or neglected child. Give that child hope for the future. Beach Bump 38,
Beach Bump 38, a beach volleyball tournament that takes place at Bally’s Atlantic City/ All beach volleyball teams, including corporate, recreational and novice teams, are invited to participate. The tournament starts at 8 a.m. and is open to all levels of play, including co-ed teams and those with little or no experience. It will be a six on six format with a minimum of five games played. The $400 per team registration fee will entitle teams to lunch, access to Sammy’s Beach Bar all day, a kick-off reception at The Diamond Club, and discounted room rates and coupons. Run For Our Troops The 2nd Annual Run for Our Troops will be from 8am to 10am at Cooper River Park, North Park Drive in Pennsauken. It is organized by the Builders League of South Jersey Charitable Foundation to benefit Homes For Our Troops. Registration begins at 7am with the race/walk beginning at 8:30am. 9/11 Commemoration
Annunciation Orthodox Church will hold a 9/11 Commemoration in conjunction with their 40th Anniversary Open House on the church grounds at 360 Van Zile Rd in Brick, NJ. The Saturday program will include tolling of the church bells at times corresponding to the significant moments of the terrorist strikes and collapses of the twin towers (8:46 – 10:28 AM) followed by a Memorial Service (Panikhida) for the victims of 9/11 and the departed founders of the parish.A Bloodmobile will be on site and accepting blood donations from 10AM to 4PM.At noon the Open House will continue with lunch followed by a Thanksgiving Service (Molieben) at 1PM and a talk by His Grace Bishop Michael, Bishop of New York & New Jersey, at 3PM. The Vespers Service will begin at 5PM followed by a Wine & Cheese Reception. Sunday’s program will begin at 10 AM with Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, celebrated by Bishop Michael, followed by an Agape Luncheon. Beginning at 3PM will be a concert by the renowned Spirit of Orthodoxy Choir conducted by Aleksei Shipovalnikov. The day will close with a Dessert Reception after the concert. Throughout both days an artist’s rendering of the church’s future iconography plans will be on display and the church will be open for viewing, information and tours. Conquer Chiari Walk Across American 2010 Help raise awareness of Chiari Malformation, a neurological disorder at Barnegat Lightouse in Barnegat Light. 5th Annual Ride For Autism Speaks Philadelphia to Atlantic City Registration will begin at 10:00 am, and the Ride will leave at 1:00 pm from the Camden Waterfront. Police-escorted ride will head down I-676 and the Atlantic City Expressway and end in Atlantic City. Tolls are covered in your registration fee. The ride will end at the House of Blues at Showboat Casino. The party will include food, live music by John Eddie and The Better Half, a cash bar, and raffle auction. The Barnegat Bay Buddy Program is a simple and easy stewardship program in which citizens can earn points by taking actions that will reduce the pollution entering the Bay. In addition, the Barnegat Bay Buddy Challenge helps individuals become better Bay stewards, and will incorporate them into a larger movement for collective citizen action to help Barnegat Bay. Clean Ocean Action (COA), Save Barnegat Bay (SBB), Ocean County Freeholders, and Beachwood Township are partners in this program. Tell Them Thanks
Tell Them Thanks is non-profit group whose mission is to support our military heroes who are deployed abroad. They want every soldier, Marine, airman, sailor and Guardsman to hear their names called at Mail Call. Their dedicated members "adopt" one or more service members and then support them for the length of their deployment. Members are required to send at least one letter a month, but many of them write more often and send care packages as well.

Comedian Gilda Radner, who died in 1989 of cancer, believed that all people with cancer and their families and friends should have free access to social and emotional support. Gilda’s Club South Jersey offers support groups, lectures, workshops and social events as a supplement to medical care in a warm and welcoming home-like setting at no charge.
