What is HD Radio?
HD Radio represents the next generation in FM broadcast technology. HD Radio is the pure digital transmission medium that greatly improves the sound quality of Radio broadcasts, virtually eliminates static, hiss, pops and fades; plus it upgrades the data display capabilities on receivers.
What are the benefits of HD Radio?
HD Radio allows today's Radio listener to continue listening to current analog broadcasts while enjoying the features of digital broadcasts. They'll be able to drive around behind buildings, inside parking lots, through rugged terrain without hearing interference and static that they might experience now. The HD Radio broadcast is CD quality.
What do I need to receive SoJO HD Radio?
You'll need an HD Radio receiver to enjoy SoJO HD Radio broadcasts. This receiver will be able to pull in SoJO Radio broadcasts in digital and analog, and it will display text data sent by SoJO 1049. A number of high-profile receiver manufacturers have committed to launching HD Radio receivers, including Boston Acoustics, JVC, Kenwood, Panasonic, Radiosophy, and Sanyo.
What if I don't have an HD Radio receiver?
You can still receive the regular SoJO broadcast if you don't have a HD Radio receiver but you will not be able to take advantage of any of the HD Radio benefits.
